Express yourself at work

March 9th, 2010

SandiLooking for a quick way to spruce up your workspace? I found a neat website that has some fun mouse designs. The creative artisans at MouseEnvy understand how difficult it is to infuse your own personality at your desk and have come up with some fun ideas.

Feeling a little feisty? Hot Rod or Skull and Bones may be the designs you have been longing for. Perhaps your sweet side has taken over, then a cute Dog, Cat or Fish should sit on your mouse pad. Maybe your sowing your wild oats and feeling a bit risque. Expressing your wild side at your desk is no longer a problem.

Whatever flavor you chose these interesting and colorful mouses have the ability to work with any computer you can throw at them. So express yourself and have some subtle fun at work.

Out of the mouths of babes

March 3rd, 2010

SandiI am amazed by the latest viral video to be circulated across our great country. This 4 year old has memorized the highly charged pre-game speech from the Hockey Movie “Miracle“. Our current Olympic Male Hockey Team USA may have already put this on their must see list!

PSA goes Viral

February 23rd, 2010

SandiImagine a viral video about seat belt safety. Not an easy task as those terms don’t seem to naturally fit together. It is hard to begin to muster up the elements it would require to achieve such a feat.

Sussex Safer Roads out of the UK has done so. They have created an emotionally moving, educational and visually stunning public service announcement that has the world talking. With well over a million views, it continues to be a top viewed PSA on YouTube.

Can you pay for this PR?

February 22nd, 2010

ChrisMy wife and I were flipping channels last night and came across a new documentary/reality style show called Undercover Boss. What an amazing concept! The CEO of large corporations go into the trenches incognito and work multiple jobs at different lower levels to see how they can improve their businesses at the basic building block levels.

The show and concept itself is fascinating to me. Last night we watched as Joe DePinto, the CEO of 7-Eleven, worked a night shift, rode shotgun on a delivery truck, learned how to manage coffee machines and work on the bakery line. The workers had no idea that they were training their CEO. Joe asked some pointed questions about their work experience, where they saw themselves being able to move to within the company, and a bit about their personal lives.

What amazing PR. This show is basically one big commercial for the company which is being featured and gives the management a chance to show the human side of large corporations. After the CEO worked under cover with their employees, 7-Eleven appeared to make some changes to better support their store, employees, and customers as well as offering additional support to the employees they worked directly with.

It was heartwarming and touching, something most of us don’t associate with big business. If you get the chance definitely check it out.

February 19th, 2010

SandiWe just helped our friend, Greg Harper, on launching his new site for HarperVision.

Greg is a technology wizard that runs around the world reviewing all the latest electronic products. Perhaps you have seen Greg on ABC News.  He has done everything from reviewing the iPad to suggesting Gifts under $100.

Greg wanted a place to showcase his many video spots and asked dM works to help him update his website.  We think the updated version does the trick aMazingly!

Before your next purchase find out what he has to say.

Dining for Pleasure or Torment

February 9th, 2010

SandiI started to think about air travel and just how much I dislike it. Dislike everything about it in fact.

Let me ask you, what is your least favorite thing about airline travel? Is it the waiting on a security line, laptop in one hand, shoes in the other? Is it the claustrophobic feeling of being stuck in a tube for the next several hours of your life? Maybe it is the uncomfortable airline seats that never seem to recline back far enough. I bet some of you are thinking how much you can’t stand the stale food served to you on little plastic plates with little plastic forks. Perhaps the young child kicking your seat or screaming on the top of their lungs is a pet peeve of yours.

I ran across an interesting theme restaurant located in Taipei. Would you believe that there is a restaurant to simulate the air travel experience? Hard to imagine making reservations or waiting on line for retired Airline Stewardess to serve you off a cart on land! Airbus A30 restaurant is only too happy to recreate this experience for you!

Apparently, Taipei is no stranger for unusual theme based restaurants.  I ran across one for a toilet bowl restaurant as well. Things that make you go ‘hmmm’.

When the Creation Attacks

February 2nd, 2010

SandiWe all get great ideas, well, at least we seem to think so. But what happens when a good idea goes wrong?

I stumbled upon this very creative video aptly named “Animator vs. Animation 2″ and fell in love with the level of creativity shown.

This seemingly innocent enough stick figure gives it’s creator quite a run for his money. I mean, don’t you know when you name a file ‘the chosen one’ your looking for trouble?

In the immortal words of Homer, mmm Beer

January 25th, 2010

SandiI ask you what is better than wings and beer? Well, burgers and beer of course.

The King has listened and is about to open a new Burger King Whopper Bar in Florida!

Opening at Universal City Walk in Orlando, Florida it is sure to be a treat for all. Now the latest announcement that I read from USA Today is that there is a South Beach, Florida location coming soon. These locations will have a less extensive menu than the traditional Burger King options but will offer Burgers, toppings and yes folks, Beer! Sounds quite refreshing on a Sunny Florida afternoon and I am not even a Burger King fan.
